WORCESTER__ Viola M. (Girard) Daoust, 96, formerly of 86 Plantation St. passed away at Christopher House on Sunday, August 6. Her husband, Wilfred O. Daoust died in 1990.
She is survived by a son Paul G. Daoust and his wife Sandra of Millbury; two daughters, Madeline C. Pawloski and her husband Royce of Oakland, MI, and Elaine R. Brissette and her husband Donald of Worcester; 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Viola was born in Worcester, a daughter of William and Aldea (Boucher) Girard and lived on Grafton Hill all her life.
Mrs Daoust graduated from the former Commerce High School. She was a life long member of St. Joseph’s Church, and its Ladies of Ste Anne Sodality and was a member of the Women’s Club and First Friday Club. She was a volunteer at Saint Francis Home for many years. Viola was also a volunteer at St. Vincent Hospital where she received accolades for her service. She spent a great deal of time making clothes for newborns.
The funeral will be held on Friday, August 11 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Church, 35 Hamilton St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home are Thursday, August 10 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.
