Obituary

WORCESTER__ Anna A. (Allen) Greenwich, 99, of 201 Providence St. passed away at her residence on Sunday August 6. Her husband, John P. Greenwich died in 1963.

She is survived by a son Thomas Greenwich and his wife Elvira “Cookie” of Worcester; a daughter, Marilyn Gerardi and her husband Leonard of Matapoiset; a daughter-in-law, Gloria Greenwich of Oxford; 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, John Paul Greenwich Jr., two brothers, Anthony and Edward Greenwich and two sisters, Ruth Yaselunes and Mary Ginkus.
Anna was born in Worcester, a daughter of Anthony and Ellen (Ocleiter) Allen and lived in Worcester most of her life.

She was a Registered Nurse at St. Vincent Hospital where she worked until retiring in 1973. Mrs. Greenwich graduated from the former David Hale Fanning High School and St. Vincent Hospital School of Nursing. She was a former member of St. Casimir’s Church and the Lithuanian Women’s Guild. Anna and her husband were once members of the Choir at St. Casimir’s Church. She enjoyed reading and music and was an avid Red Sox fan.

The funeral will be held on Wednesday August 9, from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 12:00 p.m. in St. Casimir’s Church, 41 Providence St. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Tuesday August 8, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
