WORCESTER__ Cecilia (Chouinard) Soroka, 80, of 19 Whitney St., passed away on Sunday August 6 in UMASS Memorial Medical Center, University Campus. Her husband Walter Soroka died in 1964.
She is survived by two sons, Richard G. Soroka and his wife Maureen and Walter R. Soroka and his wife Nita of Worcester; two daughters, Cheryl A Bolvar of Malden and Marian P. Miskinis of Worcester; four grandchildren, Alec Sleeper, Shelly A. Soroka, Robert W. Soroka and Richard G. Soroka, Jr., four great-grandchildren, Mikayla King, Kathleen Soroka, Abigail King and Ryan Soroka. She was predeceased by a son Alec J. Soroka, a brother Arthur Chouinard and sisters Frances Cook and Mary R. Chouinard, and a son-in-law Edmund Miskinis. Cecilia was born in Worcester, a daughter of Arthur and Mabel (Lynch) Chouinard and lived here all her life.
She was a presser and folder for many years and retired in 2002 from Coyne Textile Company where she had worked for 20 years. She attended schools in Worcester. She was a life long member of Sacred Heart Church. Cecilia enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
The funeral will be held on Friday, August 11 from HENRY-DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 11:00 a.m. in Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours in the funeral home are Thursday, August 10, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
