FALL RIVER - William Thomas Cote, 81, of Stowe St. Fall River, died Saturday in Fall River at Charlton Memorial Hospital. He was the husband of Dorothy (Mello) Cote for 63 years. He is survived by 1 Sister: Lorraine V. Desmarais of Dummer, VT, 2 Grandchildren, 3 Great-grandchildren, Several Nieces and Nephews.
Born in Fall River, MA the son of the late William Alphonse Cote and the late Mary (Medeiros) Cote. He was a lifelong resident of Fall River. Before retiring, he had worked as a Welder/Fabricator for Globe Mfg. Previously he worked as a Fabricator for the former Omega Aircraft of New Bedford and in maintenance for Gale Motors. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II serving in Central Europe and Southern France. He was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon, American Theater Campaign Ribbon, Combat Infantry Badge and the Bronze Star Medal.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, 1521 No. Main St., Fall River, MA on Thursday at 9:00 A.M., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick Cemetery. Calling Hours Wednesday 7:00-9:00 P.M.
