Obituary

COPELLO- Of Chelsea, formerly of Everett and Revere, August 7th, Theresa R. (Legere). Devoted wife for 55 years of Ernest C. Copello. Beloved mother of Dianne Buonopane of South Dakota, Betty Savosik of Maryland, Joseph Copello of New Hampshire, Donna Copello of Chelsea, George Copello of Georgia and Michael Copello of Lynn. Dear sister of Eleanor Schoonover of Colorado and the late Rita Channell and Gerard Legere. Cherished grandmother of 15 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren with her 5th great grandchild due in October. Also lovingly survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends are kindly invited to attend a Funeral from the Smith Funeral Home, 125 Washington Avenue, CHELSEA on Friday morning, August 11th at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. Michael the Archangel Chapel on the Campus of the Chelsea Soldiers Home, 91 Crest Avenue, CHELSEA at 10 o'clock. Visiting Hours in the Smith Funeral Home on Thursday from 4-8 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Woodlawn Cemetery, Everett.

Born in Revere and a resident there for most of her early years, Theresa passed away early Monday morning at the Boston Medical Center after a heroic battle with cancer that began 2 years ago.

A student of the Immaculate Conception Grammer and High School in Revere where she was a member of the Cheerleading squad, Theresa has lived in Chelsea for the last 43 years.

In her earlier years, she was employeed as a secretary for John Hancock Insurance, later working for Fleet Bank at thier Malden Office. In her spare time she volunteered as a teachers aide in the Chelsea School System and taught ceramics at the Chelsea Senior Center.
