Balbina “Bella” (Farias) Medeiros. Age 98. Wife of the late Manuel Medeiros. Residence 2446 Highland Ave., formerly of the Cotrell Apartments on Pleasant St. Died Friday in Fall River at Catholic Memorial Home. Born in Portsmouth, RI. Daughter of the late Antone Farias and the late Maria (Silva) Farias. She was a resident of Fall River since 1927, previously living in Westport. Before retiring, she had worked as a Machine Operator for Fall River Knitting Co.
She is survived by 2 Sons: Manuel "Lefty" Medeiros Jr. of CT and David Medeiros of Fall River. 1 Daughter: Evelyn Souza of Fall River. 2 Sisters: Elizabeth Oliveira of Fall River and Margaret Affonso of Somerset. 6 Grandchildren and 4 Great-grandchildren and several Nieces and Nephews. She was the sister of the late Annie Medeiros, Mary Anderson, Josephine, John, Edward, Joseph, and Anthony Farias.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home,1521 N. Main St., Fall River, MA on Tuesday with visitation from 7:30 A.M.to 8:30 A.M., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Espirito Santo Church at 9:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery.
