John Thomas Pacheco, 47, of New Bedford, formerly of Tiverton, RI, died August 1, 2006 at New Bedford Health Care Center.
Born in Fall River, the son of John H. and Judith A. (Welsh) Pacheco of Tiverton, he lived in Tiverton before moving to New Bedford 17 years ago.
He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church.
Mr. Pacheco was employed by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Mental Retardation as a residential supervisor managing several group homes for the past 25 years.
He graduated from Tiverton High School and attended University of Massachusetts at Dartmouth. He also completed the program of Theological Education from the University of the South School of Theology.
Survivors include his parents; two sisters, Jo-Ann Cooley, and her husband Jeffrey B., and Jeanne Racine, and her husband Peter A., all of Tiverton; three nephews, Jason R. Dupont, Jeffrey I. Cooley and P.J. Racine; a niece, Jessica A. Cooley; his maternal grandmother, Jeanne E. (Morrissette) Palys, of Tiverton; and several aunts and uncles.
He was the grandson of the late James A. Welsh, and John F. and Anita (Henry) Pacheco.
His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 12th at 10 AM in Grace Episcopal Church, 422 County St., New Bedford. Visiting hours are omitted. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to Beacon Hospice, 45 North Main St., Fall River, MA 02722.
