Worcester – Wilfred A. Duhamel, 88, of 1060 Main St. died on Friday August 4, in the Umass Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus after an illness.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Elsie P. (Webster) Duhamel of Worcester; a son Michael Duhamel of Reading, VT and two grandchildren. Mr. Duhamel was born in Charlton and lived in Worcester all of his life.
He is a veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army. Mr. Duhamel retired as a foreman from New England Grocers where he worked for over 30years. He was a member of Holy Name of Jesus Church and a former member of the Howard Gallant VFW Post, Homer Wheaton Post, College Hill Civic Club and a volunteer at Holy Name of Jesus Bingo.
Funeral services and burial will be held in Notre Dame Cemetery at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen Street Framingham, MA 01701. Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. is directing arrangements.
