Obituary

Gilbert C. Lima, 54, of New Bedford died August 4, 2006 suddenly at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Antonio and Franclina (Lima) Lima, he live in New Bedford all of his life.
He was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Mr. Lima was formerly employed by Quaker Fabrics for 8 years and previously worked at Dartmouth Finishing for 26 years until its closing.
He enjoyed collecting and restoring cars especially his 1955 Chevy Bel Air.
Mr. Lima enjoyed spending time with his family and many friends.
Survivors include his longtime companion, Rita C. Pelletier of New Bedford; a step-son, Walter Crovello, Jr., and his wife Carol, of Rochester; a step-daughter, Annmarie Bousquet, and her husband Joseph, of New Bedford; 3 brothers, Antone Carvalho and Joseph Lima, both of New Bedford, and John Carvalho of Michigan; a sister, Mary Lima of New Bedford; 2 grandchildren, Alex and Patrisha; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the step-father of the late Martin Crovello.
His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 12th at 1 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. His family will receive visitors prior to the service from 11 AM to 1 PM.
