Ellen Barbara Maist of Canton, formerly of Hingham, passed away quietly on Friday July 28th at the Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. Born in Quincy and raised in Hingham, Ellen graduated from Hingham High school in 1970 and went on to Quincy Jr.College. Ellen was a flight attendant for American Airlines for 14 years receiving many accolades from passengers for her kind and caring nature.She was well known for her sense of humor and her big heart. Ellen loved animals, especially cats, she was happiest when her 2 cats were sitting with her. Ellen also volunteered at the Standish Humane Society. She was a truly wonderful friend to many and will be sadly missed. Daughter of the late Joseph R. Maist and the late Barbara (Robillard) Maist. She is survived by her sister, Claudia Curchin of Waban and her brother, Joseph Maist of Westport Island, Maine. Aunt of Ashley Curchin of New York City, Ryan of Newton, Kevan and Jeffrey both of Maine. Also survived by her soulmate Robert Wagner of Canton. A Memorial Service will be conducted Friday August 4th, at 11 AM, at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St, Hingham. Visiting hours and flowers are omitted by request. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ellen's memory to the Standish Humane Society, 622 Congress St., Duxbury Ma. 02331. Interment in St. Paul's Cemetery, Hingham.
