Shirley L. (Hill) Sheehan, age 79, of 25 Bel-Aire Drive, Mystic, passed away Saturday at Pendleton in Mystic.
Mrs. Sheehan was born in Hanson, MA on March 15, 1927 the daughter of Nora Mae Davis Hogue of Norwood, MA and the late William F. Hill. Raised on Revere Beach, she attended local schools.
She married her childhood sweetheart, John F. Sheehan in Revere on May 3, 1947. After their marriage, the couple moved to New London, before eventually making their home in Mystic in 1960. Mr. Sheehan died August 29, 1997.
A devoted homemaker, she also was employed as a tax preparer at H & R Block and was employed at the former Mys-Tech Corporation.
Mrs. Sheehan was a member of the Fleet Reserve Auxiliary and the Groton Senior Center. She enjoyed sewing, flying, and building dollhouses.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her children, John F. Sheehan of Fla, William T. Sheehan, Daniel E. Sheehan, Suzanne L. Jones, and Timothy K. Sheehan, all of CT; her sisters, Beverly Cronin and Kay Desantis; 7 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
Her family will gather privately for a service. Donations in her memory may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
