Funeral Service in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday at 10 am. The Rev. Michael Fruth of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church will officiate. Burial in Pine Grove Cemetery, Lynn. Visiting hours Monday 4-8 pm.

George B. McLean 85 years of Brockton died Friday evening at the Southeast Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center in North Easton after a period of failing health. He was the husband of Irene (Tately) McLean and the late Anna (Baribo) McLean.
He was born and raised in Brockton a son of the late Perlie and Martha (Dahlborg) McLean. He had been a longtime resident of Brockton but had also lived in Pinehurst Mobile Estates in Plymouth for 20 years.
During WW II he was a P-51 fighter pilot with the Army Air Corps in the Pacific Theatre. He flew a recorded 91 missions and was the wingman for the #1 ace in the Pacific Theatre. He was awarded the air medal and bronze oak leaf cluster. Following the war he served in the Air Force Reserves until the Cuban Missile Crisis and retired as a captain.
In 1983 he retired as superintendent at Walk Over Shoe Co. in Bridgewater after 25 years of service. Previously he had worked for French Shriner Shoe of Boston and J.F. McElwain Shoe of New Hampshire.
He was a life member of VFW Post 2547 in Easton.
He enjoyed traveling and golf. He had been a member of Pine Oaks Country Club in Easton and in his golf career had made 7 holes in one.
In addition to his wife is survived by a daughter and son Dianne M. McNamara and her husband John of Sandwich and Dennis McLean and his wife Denise of W. Bridgewater. Grandfather of Tara and Joshua Kendall, Stephen McLean and his wife Julie, Laurie Abban and her husband David and Erin McLean. Stepfather of John Hallisey of Orleans.
He also leaves several nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Violet Abrahamson and Kitty Coleran
