Mr. John Victor Mastromarino of Medford, died at the Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford, following a lengthy illness. He was 82 years old.
Born in Boston, Massachusetts, on September 4, 1923, he was the son of the late Frederico and Maria (Picardi) Mastromarino. He had been a US Army veteran, entering at Boston, Massachusetts on September 28, 1943, until his honorable discharge from Ft. Devens on January 18, 1946.While in the military, Mr. Mastromarino earned the rank of PFC and was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon for his service.
He was employed as a presser for the clothing industry for many years. Mr. Mastromarino was a real family man, especially to his beloved children and grandchildren.
Hi will be sorely missed by his loving daughter, Marla T. and her husband Stephen R. Demba of Concord, two sons; Carl F. Mastromarino of Medford and John C. Mastromarino, two sisters; Antonette Marino of Medford and Rose Gobbeo of Colorado and two grandchildren, Kyla and Noel Eastman. John was also the brother of the late Teresa Cairns.
His funeral was from the Beals-Geake-Magliozzi Funeral Home 29 Governors Avenue, Medford, Saturday, July 29, 2006, at 8 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in the Immaculate Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, at 9 AM. Many relatives and friends attended. Visiting hours were Friday, July 28, 2006 from 5 to 8 PM. Interment was at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
