Grace A. (Pfaffenzeller) Macomber, 78, of Marion died Thursday July 27, 2006 at home after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Elliot H. Macomber.
Born in Malden and raised in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Henry and Josephine (Grimshaw) Pfaffenzeller, she lived in Marion for most of her life.
She was a loving mother and grandmother. She was an avid reader and scrabble player.
Survivors include six children, Douglas Macomber of St. Louis, MO, Beth Simmons of Fairhaven, Leslie Macomber, Christine Donovan, and Steven Macomber, all of Marion, and Lisa Macomber-Malkoski of Seattle, WA; three sisters, Irene Gray of Durango, CO, Marie Bouley of Fairhaven and Claire Wallace of Astoria, OR; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A Funeral Service for family and close friends will be held on Sunday at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Mattapoisett Home for Funerals, 50 County Rd. (Rt. 6), Mattapoisett, with her family receiving visitors from 10:30-11 AM, prior to the Service. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, Marion. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Elizabeth Taber Library, P.O. Box 116, Marion, MA 02738.
