Obituary

Cecile A. "Mimi" Riley of Rhodes Avenue in North Smithfield, formerly of Blackstone, Massachusetts died July 19, 2006 at St. Antoine Residence in North Smithfield, RI.
A daughter of the late Seraphine and Alice (Chabot) Martineau she lived in Blackstone, MA for many years until moving to North Smithfield three years ago.
An avid swimmer, Mrs Riley spent much of her past summers at her belovedd "Tupper" pool and was a source of joy and inspiration for her many "Tupper" friends. A regular on local talk shows, Mimi always had a kind word and was frequently recongnized for her upbeat on-air demeanor. She enjoyed politics and was active in Blackstone town meetings, often working as a checker at elections. Perhaps best known as the "RAGGEDY ANN LADY", Mimi made her own Raggedy Ann & Andy dolls for many years and took pride in her signiture product. Mrs. Riley worked at McCarthy's and Lilly Barams and was later a self employed dressmaker until her retirement. She was a communicant at St Pauls Church where she served on the parish council as well as the finance committee.
She was the sister of the late Paul E. & John M. Martineau and Theresa Martineau Clouart. She is survived by her sister-in-law Rachel C. Martineau and many nieces & nephews. She is also survived by family in Quebec, Canada. Her funeral was private.
