Tiverton, RI – Robert G. Helger, Sr., 55, of Main Road, Tiverton died accidentally Thursday. He was the husband of the late Jane V. (Gomes) Helger.
Born in Fall River, son of the late Henry R. Helger, Sr. and the late Gladys E. (Sherman) Helger, he was a lifelong resident of Tiverton. Mr. Helger was the owner/operator of Bob’s Fuel Supply, Tiverton and Helger’s Turkey Farm, Tiverton. An avid baseball fan, he was very active in coaching Little League and was a player/coach in men’s softball. He served in the National Guard.
He is survived by 2 sons: Robert G. Helger, Jr. of Tiverton and Chad W. Helger of Tiverton; a daughter: Wendy L. Helger-Wahl of Tiverton; 3 brothers: Henry “Ray” Helger, Jr. of Little Compton, Richard A. Helger of Tiverton and Donald M. Helger of Tiverton; a sister: Barbara A. Helger of Tiverton; a grandson: Zan Wahl; and several nieces and nephews.
Services to which relatives and friends are invited will be Monday, July 31, 2006 at the Potter Funeral Home at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours Sunday, July 30, 2006, 3 – 7 P.M.
Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery, Tiverton, RI.
