Salem: Phyllis E. (Appleton) D’Amour age 81 of Salem, died Monday, July 24, 2006 at the Fairhaven Nursing Home in Lowell following a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Paul J. D’Amour. Born and raised in Hamilton, she was the daughter of the late Roland C. and Helen (Ramon) Appleton. A graduate of Ipswich High, she enlisted in the Navy during World War II and served stateside as a pharmacist mate throughout the war years.
Phyllis was a resident of Salem for many years and was employed as an x-ray technician for the Salem Hospital for 40 years.
She is survived by a son: Philip D. D’Amour and his wife Kristine of North Conway, NH, 2 grand daughters: Kristen D’Amour of NYC and Tiffany D’Amour of New Hampshire, she is also survived by 2 sisters: Dorothy Thompson of Fort Pierce, FL and Madeline Holman of Orlando, FL and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son David P. D'Amour.
