Edna Mae Royal Walker, 86, of Tifton passed away Thursday, March 28, 2002, at her residence. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2002, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. John S. Gibbs, Sr. officiating. Mrs. Walker was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Mrs. Walker's grandchildren served as pallbearers.
Born November 6, 1915, in Ambrose (Coffee County), Mrs. Walker was the daughter of the late Thomas A. Royal and Lena Mae Willingham Royal. She was also preceded in death by one son, Charles Wallace Walker; one grandson, Gregory Walker; one brother, Brantley Royal; and one sister, Frances Lewis. Before retiring, she worked at Carson Brothers Dry Cleaners; and she was a homemaker. She was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Tifton.
Mrs. Walker is survived by her husband, Charlie Ackridge Walker of Tifton; one daughter-in-law, Joyce Hapeman of Alabama; one sister-in-law, Bessie Royal; six grandchildren, Victoria Walker, Lynda Erkiletian, Timothy Walker, Cindy Walker Black, Sherri Walker and Keith Walker; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
