Margaret Denham Willis, 78, of Tifton passed away Friday, May 3, 2002, at her residence. Her funeral service was held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 5, 2002, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Jimmy Odum officiating. Mrs. Willis was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Edison Watson, Kenneth Willis, Kenneth Gailey, Ralph Finley, Gene Hancock and Clyde Henderson served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were the past and present members of the choir at Second Baptist Church in Tifton, where she was a member for over 40 years.
Born July 1, 1923, in Troupe County, Mrs. Willis was the daughter of the late Lee Otis Denham and Pearl Morris Denham. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ralph O. Willis, Sr., who passed in 1992; three brothers, Bruce Denham, Lee Otis Denham, Curtis Denham; and one sister, Lula Denham Beaty. Before retiring, she was the owner and operator of Willis Dairy; and she was a member of Tifton's Second Baptist Church.
Mrs. Willis is survived by two sons, Randall Willis of Albany and Ralph O. Willis, Jr. of Tifton; one daughter, Dianne Willis Phillips of Tifton; one brother, W. E. Dixon of Tifton; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
