Theodore L. “Ted” Parrella, 80 of Medford MA, died Wednesday after a long illness in the Courtyard Nursing Care Center, Medford, MA.
Born in Medford, he was a life long resident and was the son of the late Augusta (Rossi) and Luca Parrella. Ted was a Mechanical Engineer at Draper Lab for 38 years and retired in 1989. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946 on board the USS South Dakota and was a Fireman first class. Mr. Parrella was a member of the Draper Lab Quarter Century Club, M.I.T. Quarter Century Club, and the Richard C. Maclaurin Masonic Lodge in Cambridge.
Beloved husband of the late Ruth B. (Ridlon) Parrella. Devoted father of Theodore Parrella of Cumming, GA, Robert Parrella of Derry, NH, Carol Parrella of Medford, and Diane Carnevale of Wakefield. Also survived by 4 loving grandchildren. Brother of Hilda Parrella of Cambridge, Barbara Caruso of Medford, and the late Alfred and Angelo Parrella.
Funeral from Dello the Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Saturday at 8 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Joseph Church, 118 High St., Medford, at 9 AM.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
Visiting hours Friday 4 - 8.
Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
