Beverly A. Hathaway
...retired from Getronics, formerly Wang; 74
TEWKSBURY - Beverly A. ”Bev” (Smith) Hathaway, age 74, a well known resident of
Tewksbury for 50 years, died Wednesday evening, July 26, at Wingate at Lowell, after a
courageous three year battle with cancer, surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Henry
H. “Herb” Hathaway, who died in 2001.
She was born in Cambridge, May 22, 1932, a daughter of the late Leroy and Annie (Livingston)
Smith, and raised in Arlington. She had resided in Tewksbury for over 50 years.
Before retirement in 2000, she was employed by Getronics in Lowell, formerly Wang
Laboratories. In her earlier years, she had worked in the treasurers office at Tewksbury Hospital.
Mrs. Hathaway was devoted to her children and grandchildren and her many friends. She also
enjoyed Bingo, and trips to the Connecticut Casinos with the Tewksbury Senior Groups. She was
a frequent visitor to the Tewksbury Senior Drop-In Center, and a member of the Tewksbury
Golden Age Club. She was also well know for her quick wit, hilarious stories, and fabulous
sense of humor.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Susan and Ronald Tenney , Karen and Jeffrey
Perry all of Dracut; four grandchildren, Steven, Sharon, Brad, and Alexandra; two sisters,
Marjorie J. Smith of Arlington, Lillian L. Keating of Somerville; a brother and sister-in-law, Roy
and Janis Smith of Somerville; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mirabel and Paul Collins of
Medford; several nieces and nephews; and numerous dear friends.

Her Funeral Service was held Monday, July 31, in the funeral home. Burial was at Tewksbury Cemetery.
