Mark Woodard, 87, of Tifton passed away Saturday, January 5, 2002, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service was held at 4:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2002, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. John S. Gibbs, Sr. officiating. Mr. Woodard was laid to rest at Ty Ty First Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Woodard's nephews served as pallbearers.
Born August 22, 1914, in Worth County. Mr. Woodard was the son of the late William Allen Woodard and Nellie Harris Woodard. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Ida Paul Woodard; three step-children; six brothers; and one sister. Before retiring, he was a serviceman at Tifton Glass Company; and he was a member of Tifton's First Assembly of God.
Mr. Woodard is survived by two sons, Gary Woodard of Tifton and Carson Taylor of Nashville; one daughter, Bermont DeLille of Tifton; one brothers, Randolph Woodard of Albany; three sisters, Lottie Mae Loper of Ashburn, Louise Wise of Sylvester and Elma Sullivan of Poulan; thirteen grandchildren; and nineteen great-grandchildren.
