Obituary

Bridgewater- Jesse L. Hill, 85, of Bridgewater, formerly of East Bridgewater, died Tuesday, July 25, 2006, at his home. He was the husband of Lois (French) Hill.
Born Sept. 24, 1920, in Cliffside, N.C., the son of the late Thomas and Cora (Wilson) Hill, he grew up in North Carolina.
Mr. Hill attended Lincoln Prep School and Northeastern University.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served during World War II.
A foreman, Mr. Hill was an elevator constructor with the Local 4 for 42 years, retiring in 1986.
He was a member of the Quincy Masonic Lodge and was active in the Boy Scouts in East Bridgewater.
Mr. Hill had been a resident of Bridgewater for the past 13 years, coming from East Bridgewater, where he lived for 25 years.
He was an avid stamp and coin collector and enjoyed gardening.
In addition to his wife Lois, he is survived by his children, Carolyn M. Anderson of Middleboro, Steven A. Hill of Lawrence, N.Y., Peter M. Hill of Chaparral, N.M., and Mary-Ellen Farrell of Middleboro; 14 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
His funeral services are private. Arrangements are by the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater.
