Obituary

Willie Mae LeSueur Sumner, 91, of Ty Ty passed away Sunday, January 6, 2002, at her residence. Her funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. at Ty Ty's First Baptist Church with the Rev. Danny Jones and the Rev. John S. Gibbs, Sr. officiating. Mrs. Sumner was laid to rest at Hickory Springs Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Tifton.

Tommy Pritchett, Steve Pritchett, Jerry Kendrick, John Crownover, Larry Carl Sikes and Bobby Malcolm served as pallbearers.

Born July 3, 1910, in Tift County, Mrs. Sumner was the daughter of the late Thomas LeSueur and Daisy Akins LeSueur. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Chesley W. Sumner, who passed away in 1982; one daughter, Mona Faye Sikes, who passed away in 1998; three brothers; and two sisters. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of Ty Ty's First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Sumner is survived by two daughters, Geraldine Stephens and Audrey Crownover, both of Ty Ty; one sister, Alice Monk of Montezuma; eight grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.
