Obituary

Willis "Bill" Wilson Stewart, Sr., 68, of Irwin County passed away Friday, April 26, 2002, at his residence. His funeral service was held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, April 29, 2002, at Landmark Baptist Church in Irwin County with the Rev. Mike Brannon officiating. Mr. Stewart was laid to rest at Mr. Stewart's Farm in Irwinville.

Shane Hobbs, Tony Davis Jr., Albert Stewart Jr., Joey Marchant, Rodney Bennett and Perry Parker served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were David Kendrick, Daryll Waites and Jason Connell.

Born November 11, 1933, in Dreplin County, North Carolina, Mr. Stewart was the son of the late A. N. Stewart and Fannie Mae Levanhouse Stewart. He was also preceded in death by one son, Willis Wilson Stewart, Jr. He was a well driller and had been the owner and operator of Stewart Well Drilling since 1961; and he was a member of Landmark Baptist Church in Irwin County, where he served his Savior, Jesus, faithfully all his life.

Mr. Stewart is survived by his wife, Dawn Stewart of Irwin County; six daughters, Peggy Sensabaugh of Ellenwood, Shere Justice of Columbus and Katrina Stewart, Kayla Stewart, Kelsea Stewart and Kerra Stewart, all of Irwin County; one brother, William Stewart of Sutter; three grandchildren, Jennifer Winthrope, Tony Davis Jr. and Shane Hobbs; and two great-granddaughters.
