LOWELL—Lyndwood D. Foster, Jr., 85 years old, a longtime resident of Lowell, died Sunday evening, July 23rd at his home in Lowell. He was the husband of the late Eleanor ‘Corinne’ (Lagasse) (Hughes) Foster, who died in 1999.
He was born in Dracut, on June 20, 1921, a son of the late Lyndwood D. and Gertrude (Fraser) Foster, Sr., and was a graduate of the Dracut Public School System and Dracut High School.
For over 50 years, Mr. Foster owned and operated Foster’s TV Service. He was an accomplished pianist, who played in many local venues during his career. More recently, he regularly entertained the residents at D’Youville Senior Care, in Lowell.
Surviving him are his seven children: Patricia Stromvall, of Merrimack, NH; Kenneth, and his wife Josephine Hughes, of Salem, NH; Roland Hughes; Frederick, and his wife Kathleen Foster; Gert Foster and John Foster, all of Lowell; and Linda, and her husband Neil Dyment, of Warner, NH; a close friend: Wayne Dupont, of Lowell; numerous grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Memorial calling hours to be held on Thursday, July 27th, from 10 AM to 12 noon, at the MAHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 187 Nesmith Street, (Rte. 38). Private committal.
