Obituary

W. Bridgewater - Harold A. Hallberg, 82, of W. Bridgewater died Sunday, July 23, 2006, at Brockton Hospital. He was the husband of the late Doris M. (Leavitt) Hallberg.

Born Feb. 15, 1924, in Aurburn, he was the son of the late Arthur and Gertrude (Erickson) Hallberg.

He was raised and educated in Auburn and was a graduate of Auburn High School.

Mr. Hallberg was in the US Army during World War II, where he received the WWII Victory Medal, and then became a Merchant Marine.

A machinist, he worked for Brockton Tool Co. as a tool and die maker for 18 years.

Mr. Hallberg had been a resident of West Bridgewater for 47 years and was a member of the Trinity Covenant Church in Bridgewater for many years.

He was also a member of the American Legion and enjoyed working on cars, and taking care of his home and yard.

He was the father of Elizabeth Corshia of Kingston and Sandra Hallberg of West Bridgewater; brother of Robert Hallberg of Oakham and the late Raymond Hallberg. Also survived by two grandchildren.
His Funeral service will be held in the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, Wednesday at 4 pm. Visiting hour will be one hour prior to service from 3-4 pm.
