Paula J. (Evans) Lanni passed away peacefully at her Maynard home surrounded by her loving family on Saturday. She was 83. Paula was born and raised in Athol, the daughter of the late Charles W. and Garnet (Schenk) Evans.
After graduating from Westbrook College she lived in Cambridge where she worked for the Cambridge Electric Light Company. She met the love of her life, Bob Lanni, and the two married and settled in Medford. Paula was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, aunt, and friend to many. For many years she enjoyed a career in administrative positions at the New England Memorial Hospital. Paula loved keeping her beautiful home and decorating it with lovely antiques and collectibles. She loved to spend Saturday morning going to all the yard sales she could find! She hosted Christmas Eve for the Lanni clan for many years, spoiling her guests with the best homemade meatballs, Jell-o salads, sugar cookies and whoopee pies. Paula enjoyed decorating her home to host special holiday luncheons and tea for her girlfriends. She spent her summers at Wells beach, where she happily welcomed everyone as family. She and Bob enjoyed occasionally trying their luck at Mohegan Sun in Connecticut, and they usually did quite well! Most of all, Paula was happiest spending her time with those she loved.
The beloved wife of the late Robert R. “Bob” Lanni, who passed away three years ago, Paula was a loving mother to Christopher Lanni and his wife Rebecca of Maynard. She was the dear sister of the late Robert Evans and his surviving wife Deb Baldwin of Keene, NH. She is also survived by many devoted in-laws, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and friends.
