Mary Kilgore Bryant Stanford, 96, of Byron passed away Thursday, August 8, 2002, at Houston Medical Center in Warner Robins. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 11, 2002, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Terrell Roberts and the Rev. J. A. Clements officiating.
Mrs. Stanford's grandchildren served as pallbearers.
Born June 11, 1906, in Haralson County, Mrs. Stanford was the daughter of the late D. B. Kilgore and Rene Dryden Kilgore. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Lee Bryant; and her second husband, J. L. Stanford. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of Irwinville Baptist Church.
Mrs. Stanford is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Virgil and Wylene Bryant of Byron; two step-sons, Renta Stanford of Moultrie and Paul Stanford of Columbus; three step-daughters and their husbands, Minnie Lee Tomlinson of Perry, Lu Dean and Harold Griner of Tifton and Doris Burdett of Greenville, Florida; two brothers, Gordon Kilgore of Irwinville and George Kilgore of Fitzgerald; one sister, Rosa Lee Jones of Florida; eight grandchildren ; fifteen great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.
