JOHN N. "MARTY" MARTIN
JOHN N. "MARTY" MARTIN died Friday, July 21, 2006 at his home at the Keystone Apartments in Dorchester. He was formerly of Weymouth and South Boston. Mr. Martin was 67 years old. He was a 1958 graduate of South Boston High School. Mr. Martin served in the United States Navy from 1958 to 1960 and then attended and graduated from Bentley College. He was a retired accountant from The 1st American Bank in Dorchester. He enjoyed Irish Culture, music and dance and was proud of the fact that he held dual citizenship in the United States and Ireland. He was also a member of the McKeon Post, AMVETS in Dorchester. He was the devoted father of John N. Martin, Jr. and his wife Sheri of Plymouth, Robert Martin and his Fiance Melissa of Winchester, Judith Martin of Quincy and Christopher Martin of Waltham. Grandfather of Jaymes and Natalie Martin. Brother of Catherine Tower of Hudson, MA, Joan Fulton of Litchfield, N.H. and the late Frank Martin. He was the beloved son of the late Nicholas J. & Katherine (Walsh) Martin who passed away when Marty was a child. The Martin children were then raised by the Starck family of South Boston. Funeral from the O'Donnell & Mulry Funeral Home, 138 Neponset Ave., Dorchester, Wednesday morning at 9:15. Funeral Mass in St. Brendan's Church, at 10 o'clock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours Tuesday 5 - 8 PM. Donations in Marty's memory may be made to a charity of your choice. Interment, Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
