Bebe Harper Russell, 61, of Tifton passed away Saturday, February 16, 2002, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 19, 2002, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Gary Cadwell officiating. A eulogy was given by Rick Ellis. Mrs. Russell was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Andy Russell, Sam Russell, Bates Russell Jr., Michael Horton, Chad Maxwell, Robby McClure and Tony Roberson served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Timmy Paulhill, Hansel Steedley, Daniel Jackson, Jim Isdell, Joe Isdell, Jerry Horton, Al Russell and Bill Russell.
Born July 2, 1940, in Tift County, Mrs. Russell was the daughter of the late Bates Cleve Harper and Mozelle Simmons Harper. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Winford Alfred Russell. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Tifton.
Mrs. Russell is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Teresa L. Russell and Bates L. Sr. and Betty Russell, all of Tifton; one daughter and son-in-law, Freda and Perry Horton of Tifton; seven grandchildren, Andy Russell, Sam Russell, Bates Russell Jr., Brad Russell, Jennifer Jackson, Sandy Jackson and Michael Horton; and two step great-grandchildren.
