William R. Prosser, Jr. 87, of Tifton passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2002, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A graveside funeral service was held for Mr. Prosser at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 24, 2002, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where he was laid to rest. The Rev. Paul Thomas officiated.
Born December 25, 1914, in Lowndes County, Mr. Prosser was the son of the late William R. Prosser, Sr. and Mamie Whitfield Prosser. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Opal Prosser; one brother; and four sisters. He retired as an instructor and Master Sergeant from the United States Air Force; and he was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Prosser is survived by one sister, Lillian Prosser Dorminey of Alapaha; three step-children; and several nieces and nephews.
