Franklin Delanor Pittman, 69, of Omega passed away Thursday, March 7, 2002, at Tift Regional Medical Center. His funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 10, 2002, at First Baptist Church Ty Ty with the Rev. Danny Jones and the Rev. Bruce Berry officiating. Mr. Pittman was laid to rest at First Baptist Church Ty Ty Cemetery.
Humberto Ortiz, Scott Suggs, Brett Warren, Landry Pittman, Timmy Manac and David Walters served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Paul Green, Joe Walker Sr. Randy Stalvey, Lewis Stalvey, David Stalvey, Jimmy Stalvey, Danny Crumbley, Joey Walker, Walter Black and Merton Walters.
Born February 4, 1933, in Moultrie, Mr. Pittman was the son of the late William McGloth Pittman and Leatha Green Pittman. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Joe Pittman, Wallace Pittman and Talmadge Pittman. He was a retired construction worker.
Mr. Pittman is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Vickie Pittman of Tifton; two daughters and one son-in-law, Carlene Warren of Homerville and Lisa and David Walters of Ty Ty; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Irma Baker of Riverdale and Wilma and Edward Fender of Dupont; ten grandchildren, Scott Suggs, Tiffany Pittman, Miranda Pittman and Krissy Pittman, all of Tifton. Nikki Manac of Dupont, Brett Warren of Homerville, Landry Pittman of Nashville and Mandi Walters, Jessica Walters and David Walters, all of Ty Ty; and two great-grandchildren, Colten Manac and Dixie Manac.
