Obituary

Mamie Alexander Pearson, 88, of Orlando, Florida passed away Sunday, March 17, 2002, at her residence. Her funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2002, at the Nashville Church of God with the Rev. Julian Strom and the Rev. Ronnie Luke officiating. Mrs. Pearson was laid to rest at Turner Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Enigma.

Ladon Pearson, Keith Watkins, DeWayne Harris, Shaun Suggs, Aaron Mullins, Daniel Owens, Dale Mullins and Greg Corbin served as pallbearers.

Born July 15, 1913, in Tift County, Mrs. Pearson was the daughter of the late Jesse Wilburn Alexander and Mary Alice Gibbs Alexander. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ben A. Person, who passed away in 2000; and one daughter, Mary Frances Pearson. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of the Nashville Church of God.

Mrs. Pearson is survived by two sons, Kenneth Pearson of Enigma and Bobby Pearson of Jacksonville, North Carolina; two daughters, Marcell Watkins of Cairo and Carolyn Harris of Orlando, Florida; one brother, James Alexander of Detroit, Michigan; one sister, Latrell Davis of Columbus. Mississippi; fifteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.
