Zelda Harrison Lindsey, 89, of Tifton passed away Monday, September 16, 2002, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service was held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 19, 2002, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Douglas Gibson and the Rev. Nathaniel McCalvin officiating. Mrs. Lindsey was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Tim Coleman, Jonathon Ross, James Hester, Robert Setters, John Setters and Stephen Kelly served as pallbearers.
Born October 20, 1912, in Pike County, Mrs. Lindsey was the daughter of the late Jesse Cleve Harrison and Emmie Thornton Harrison. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roy Emmett Lindsey, Sr., who passed away in 1969; and one sister, Mary Ester Swain. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Kelltown.
Mrs. Lindsey is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Buddy and Bonnie Lindsey and Johnny and Peggy Lindsey, all of Tifton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Grace and Roy Irvy, Ruth and Nelson Bailey and Sue and Donald Hester, all of Tifton; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
