VELMA E. LOVELETTE
August 26, 1935- July 18, 2024
RAYMOND- Velma E. (LeVasseur, Guerrette) Lovelette, 88, of Raymond, died peacefully from lung cancer on Thursday, July 18, 2024, at her home. She was born in Van Buren, ME., on August 26, 1935, the daughter of Luke and Artheline (Madore) LeVasseur. As a young teenager, she worked for her father nailing potato barrels. She was a seamstress sewing parts of sneakers at Converse. Velma liked to sew and knit, she was very talented with the sewing machine. She enjoyed going to Silver Sneakers and made many friends. She was loved and considered a very spirited woman by her family and friends. Velma is survived by her four children, Steven Guerrette and his wife Deborah of LaPorte, IN., Pam Gauvin and her husband
Gary of Buxton, Tina Bell and her husband Bruce of Raymond and Todd Guerrette and his wife Beth of Raymond; one brother Roland LeVasseur and wife Kitty of Presque Isle, three sisters Suzanne Cole of Bangor, Linda Tilsley of Fort Fairfield, and Patricia and husband Glen Nielson of Ashland. Grandchildren Nicole (Brad) Moore, Andrew Gauvin, Amy (Brandon) Atkinson, Emily (Angela) Potter, Marcel (Michele) Bell, Travis (Rhiannon) Guerrette and Brandon Guerrette (Brooke Nichols). Great-grandchildren Baily, Saige, and Noah Moore, Antoni, Francis, and Teodor Gauvin, Imogen, Carmen, and Oscar Atkinson, Cameron Sawyer, Leo Potter, Olivia, Lucey, and Maxximus Bell, Julian and Weston Guerrette, Bode Guerrette and Parker Place; and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Velma is predeceased by her father and mother, husbands Paul Guerrette and Loren Lovelette, brothers Norman and Gerald LeVasseur, and sister Lillian LeClair.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on July 27, from 1-4 PM at the family home of Velma at 278 Webbs Mills Rd., Raymond. Burial will be on July 31 at 11 AM at St. Mary’s Cemetery, North Main Street, Presque Isle, Arrangements are by Chad E. Poitras, Cremation & Funeral Services, 498 Long Plains Rd, Buxton.
