Robert A. “Bob” Prescott of Sun Lakes, Arizona, and formerly of Needham, MA and Chatham, MA died on Friday July 21st at Friendship Village Hospice of the Valley in Tempe Arizona. He was 77 years old.
Mr. Prescott was a graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology, Boston, MA and Officer Candidate School, Fort Benning, GA. He served in the Army during the Korean War attaining the rank of Captain. Mr. Prescott was the Founder and President of Scott Electrical Supply Co., Newton, MA from 1973 until he sold the company in 1993. He moved to Arizona in 2003.
He was a member of the Norfolk Lodge A.F. & A. M., a past member of Needham Business Association and Wentworth Alumni Association. He was a Little League and Senior League Baseball coach in Needham for many years.
Husband of the late Pinellas “Penny” (Strong) Prescott. Father of Robert L. and his wife Rose A. Prescott of Chandler, AZ and Peter M. Prescott of Westminster, MA Brother of Pat Young of Natick. Grandfather of Peter M. Naughton of Franklin, MA and Morgan C. Prescott of Chandler AZ.
A Graveside service will be held at the Needham Cemetery, 128 Nehoiden St Needham on Thursday July 27 at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours in the Eaton Funeral Home, 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Wednesday from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers donations in Bob’s name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street Framingham MA 01701, the American Heart Association, 20 Speen Street Framingham MA 01701 or to Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Development Office, 116 Huntington Ave 5th Floor, Boston MA 02116.
