Louis L. Marcarelli, age 96, died peacefully, Friday, July 21st, at the Life Care Center in Stoneham. He was the beloved husband of the late Permina “Lena” (Uberti). Born in Boston he was the son of the late Gabriel and Elvira (Tenese) Marcarelli.
Mr Marcarelli was a proud Italian-American and was extremely proud of his Boston North End roots. He was a retired manager and worked for over forty years at Phillip´s Drug Store which was located on Charles St. in Boston. Following his retirement he worked for a number of years at the Wessel Library of Tufts University. He was an avid reader and enjoyed listening to operah.
Mr. Marcarelli is survived by his children, Louis G. Marcarelli of Venice, FL, Paula Potter of Lexington, Susan Lynch of Charlestown and Janine Cooper of Peabody. He is also survived by seven loving grandchildren and three loving great grandchildren.
Funeral from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., MEDFORD Tuesday at 10:30 am followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis De Sales Church, 313 Bunker Hill St., Charlestown, at 11 am. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and visit with the family Tuesday morning from 8 am to 10:30 am. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. It has been requested that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions amy be made to Affinity Hospice of Life, 121 Middlesex Turnpike, Suite 102, Burlington, MA 01803.
