WORCESTER-Ronald E. Dow, 84, of Worcester died Saturday, July 22nd, at home. He leaves his wife Mary C. (Dixon) Dow with whom he would have celebrated his 61st anniversary on July 28th; two sons, Ronald W. Dow and his wife Kathleen of Worcester and Bernard E. Dow and his wife Angela of West Boylston; a daughter, Maureen E., wife of Mario Rolla of Hubbardston; a brother, Eugene Dow of Melbourne, FL; 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother Richard Dow.
Mr. Dow was born in Concord, New Hampshire, the son of Walter and Mary Jane (Bourque) Dow and was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during World War II. He retired after 31 years as a firefighter for the City of Worcester and founded, owned and operated Independent Garage Door Company. He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church. He and Mary located the former members of Squadron VT 82, and reestablished meetings of the squadren that were held every 3 years throughout the country.
The funeral is Tuesday, July 25th, from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, July 24th, from 4:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
