Dallas W. Denham age 69, of Water Valley, MS, died in the Yalobusha County General Hospital on Friday, July 21, 2006. He was a retired truck driver for Southern Express, a member of Campground Baptist Church and an avid Outdoorsman until his health failed two years ago. Mr. Denham proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps, serving during the Vietnam War and receiving the Expert Rifleman Medal, Good conduct Medal and he held First Place Physical Fitness with 2nd Marine Med Cruise Division for 21 weeks.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM in Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home on Monday, July 24, 2006 with Brother Ross Roberson officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 11:00 AM until the 2:00 PM time of service. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery with Tommy Scroggins, Matt Miller, Shane Wilbourne, Jim Morrison, Josh Morrison and Jared Morrison serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Johnson, Johnny Perkins, Bill Webster, Richard Miles, Lloyd Defer, Bill Norman and Walter Richardson.
Surviving Mr. Denham are: wife, Patsy Griffin Denham of Water Valley, MS; daughter, Teresa Morrison of Wichita, KS; step-daughters, Robbie Miller of Aberdeen, MS and Lorene Schwandner of Olive Branch, MS; son, Mark Denham of Water Valley, MS; step-son, Pat Wilbourne of Corning, AR; sisters, Ruby Rodgers of Oxford, MS, Lou Chrestman of Grenada, MS and Janet Wages of Coffeeville, MS; brothers, Russell Denham of Ypsilanti, MI, E. D. Denham of Saltillo, MS, Ralph Denham of Water Valley, Ms and Wilburn Denham of Ypsilanti, MI. He leaves behind seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
Preceding Mr. Denham in death were his parents, William Connie Denham and Daisy Lucille Rhyne Denham.
