Alma Mullins Lyle, 89, of Chula, formerly of Union Point, passed away Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Her funeral service was held at 7:00 p.m. Friday, August 2, 2002, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with the Rev. Judy White officiated. Mrs. Lyle was laid to rest at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, August 3, 2002, at Green Lawn Cemetery in Union Point with the Rev. Carey officiating.
Mrs. Lyle's grandsons served as pallbearers.
Born January 29, 1913, in Penfield (Green County), Mrs. Lyle was the daughter of the late Milton Franklin Mullins and Nancy Jane Campbell Mullis. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard Donald Lyle, Sr., who passed away in 1989. She was a homemaker; and she was a member of Mount Calvary United Methodist Church in Tifton.
Mrs. Lyle is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, Don Jr. and Wylene Lyle of Lake Wales, Florida and Bill and Jayde Lyle of Ormond Beach, Florida; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Larry Duncan of Chula; one sister, Nan Michael of Watkinsville; nine grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
