Theresa R. Camelli, 86, of North Smithfield, formerly of Woonsocket, died peacefully Friday morning June 14, 2024 at Mt. St. Rita Health Care Center in Cumberland. She was the loving wife of the late Charles A. “Charlie” Camelli. Theresa and Charlie were married on September 22, 1956 at St. Charles Church and shared over 52 years together until his passing in July 2009.
Born and raised in Woonsocket she was a daughter of the late Everett Crane, Sr. and Rose (Binette) Crane. She was a graduate of Woonsocket High School with the class of 1955. Theresa and Charlie lived in Bellingham for several years before returning to Woonsocket where they resided over 40 years on Park Ave. In recent years Theresa enjoyed living at Deerfield Commons in North Smithfield.
In her earlier years Theresa worked at several local companies and at Texas Instruments.
Theresa was employed for over 30 years with the Woonsocket School Department at a number of schools across the city. Her primary role was to assist the school nurses with secretarial and administrative tasks.
Theresa will be remembered as a devoted wife and mother. Her life centered on her family and all of their activities. Theresa’s personal motto was “Shop till you drop” as she was always game for a shopping trip, wherever and whatever the goods there were for her to peruse. Theresa could spy a bargain from a mile away and knew a good deal (and a not so good deal) at the drop of a hat.
Theresa is survived by her son Mark Camelli and his wife Robin of Woonsocket and two daughters Cindy Camelli of Woonsocket and Elizabeth “Liz” Viens and her companion James Ross of Harrisville. She was the proud grandmother of Alicia Wolny and great-grandmother of Noelle and Maximus Wolny all of North Carolina. Theresa was the sister of Everett Crane, Jr. and Susan Moriello and her husband James all of Woonsocket. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and their families.
Everyone is welcome to gather to honor, remember and pray for Theresa at visiting hours on Friday June 21, 2024 from 9:00-10:30 am at Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in St. John’s Church in Slatersville. Theresa will be laid to rest alongside her husband Charlie at St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham.
