Norma Hill Hester, 60, of Tifton passed away Monday, September 30, 2002, at Phoebe-Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. Her funeral service was held at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 2, 2002, at New River Baptist Church in Tifton with the Rev. Larry Layfield and the Rev. Mickey Adams officiating. Mrs. Hester was laid to rest at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Benny Johnston, Hollis Goode, Don Perkle, Warren Houseworth, Mike Johnston and Charles Newell served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were the deacons of New River Baptist Church in Tifton.
Born September 24, 1942, in Hamilton County, Florida, Mrs. Hester was the daughter of the late Charlie Hill and Barbara Howell Hill. She was a homemaker and fishing buddy; and she was a member of New River Baptist Church in Tifton.
Mrs. Hester is survived by her husband, Milton Hester of Tifton; one son, Drayden Hester of Tifton; four brothers, Winston Hill, Johnnie Hill and George Hill, all of Tifton and Norma Hill of Salt Lake City, Utah; one sister, Frances Noland of Tifton; two aunts, Eliza Holland of Tifton and Hortense Brown of Lake Panasofkee, Florida; two uncles, Marvin Howell of Modesto, California and Dorian Howell of Madison, Florida; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
