GORHAM- Barbara Jean Ryan, age 91, formerly of Tewksbury, Mass. passed away peacefully, surrounded by her girls, Saturday June 8 at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine.
Barbara was born on August 30, 1932, in Dorchester, Mass. Her parents were Charles and Madeline Keane of Brighton, Mass.
She graduated from Boston Latin School.
She married the love of her life in 1950 and raised two daughters and was predeceased by Joseph ‘Bob’ Ryan in 2001.
She loved doing ceramics, crafting, gardening and her favorite job was taking care of her family and her love for children led her to open a candy store in her home.
Barbara is survived by her children - Debra Cavanaugh and her husband Fred of Sanbornton, NH and Diane Nightingale and her husband Terry of Westbrook, Maine and four grandchildren Kelly McNamara and family of Leominster, Mass. Melissa Proper and family of Hollis, Maine, Ashley Grindrod and family of Hollis, Maine and Jill DeStefano and family of South Burlington, Vt. and eight great grandchildren.
Private services will be held at a later date and Barbara will be joining her husband Bob to be together in Tewksbury Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to March of Dimes in her name.
