WORCESTER-George A. Scarpaci, 84, of 166 May Street, died Thursday, August 22nd in his home after a brief illness. He leaves his wife of 59 years, Claire R. (McDonald) Scarpaci, his daughter Jane F. wife of Robert G. Hadley, Sr. of Miami, OK,, 2 sisters; Florence Scarpaci of Worcester and Ann Mocca of Gaithersburg, MD, 3 grandchildren Robert G. Hadley, Jr., David E. and Melissa A. Hadley, and a great-granddaughter Celeste Hadley.
He was born in Worcester the son of Frank and Rose (Martocci) Scarpaci. Mr. Scarpaci was a World War 2 veteran, serving with the Army Air Corps as a medic. He was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade School, and Worcester Junior College. Mr. Scarpaci had worked forty years as a foreman for the former Elfskin Corporation, and later retired from Custom Coating and Laminating Corporation in 1984.
The funeral will be Monday, August 26th from O’Connor Brothers Funeral Home, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at Noon in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 341 June Street. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Sunday, August 25th from 4:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
