Mihal Prifti, 87, of Worcester, passed away on Sunday, June 9th at home surrounded by his loving family. He leaves his wife of 52 years, Nadire (Carciu) Prifti; a son, Erind Prifti and his wife, Donika of Worcester; a daughter, Evis Bruzho of Boylston; four grandchildren, Dorotea, Aleksia and her fiancé, Ranier, Rylee, and Michael; and one brother in Albania. He was predeceased by his son in law, Kostaq Bruzho; three sisters; and two brothers.
He was born in Gjirokaster, Albania the son of Jorgji and Eftalia (Dhimitria) Prifti. Mihal worked as a construction engineer focusing on commercial buildings for the last forty years. His love for soccer was unrivaled; he found solace and joy in watching every match, cheering on his favorite teams with unwavering enthusiasm. In the tranquil embrace of his garden, Mihal found serenity and purpose. Tending to his plants and flowers brought him immense joy and satisfaction. His green thumb was evident in the vibrant colors and flourishing life that adorned his garden. His love for Albania was unmatched and missed traveling to visit his family and friends. Above all else, Mihal treasured the time spent with his family. He was a devoted husband, a loving father, a caring grandfather, and a pillar of strength for all who knew him.
His calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 12th from 5:00pm until 7:00pm in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Family and friends are invited to gather in the funeral home on Thursday, June 13th beginning 11:00am until 11:30am. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery, 119 Webster Street.
