Obituary

LACONIA ---- Linda A. DeForge, 64, of Winter Street, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 3, 2024, at Concord Hospital in Laconia.

Linda was born on May 21, 1960, in Laconia, the daughter of Richard and Shirley (Paul) Plourde.

Linda graduated from Laconia High School and went on to become a CNA/LNA where she touched the lives of the many patients she cared for. Linda was known for her “heart of gold” and took the time to have in depth conversations with each nursing home resident she came in contact with. Linda always had a smile and took the time to make everyone feel that they had her undivided attention.

Linda did not have children of her own but absolutely loved her nieces Cassandra (Plourde) Prescott and Danielle (Plourde) Millen, as if they indeed were her own. Often Linda could be found at the many youth and school sports the girls played. Linda was also front and center at school events, dance recitals and celebrated many of the girls’ important life events. Linda loved fussing over her great-nephew and great-nieces as well and could always be found cheering them on at their sporting events.

Linda developed many special relationships with those she worked with but one of the most important ones was with her “Fabulous Team of 4”; these ladies were exceptionally important to Linda. For over 40 years Linda, Carrie, Kathy and Cindy had many adventures and extra special shopping trips to North Conway.

Linda is survived by her husband Edward ‘Eddie’ DeForge, Jr. and mother-in-law Priscilla DeForge. Linda also leaves behind her mother Shirley Plourde, brother David R. Plourde and sister-in-law Michelle Plourde, nieces Cassandra Prescott and husband David C. Prescott and Danielle Millen and husband Adam Millen, great-nephew Alexander Prescott and great-nieces, Sophie Prescott, Ryleigh Millen and Ava Millen. Linda is predeceased by her father Richard Plourde.

Linda will be greatly missed by her family, friends, colleagues and by the many people whose heart she had touched.

For those who wish the family has suggested that donations be made in Linda’s memory to Lakes Region Scholarship Fund, PO Box 7312, Gilford, NH 03247-7312, or https://www.lrscholarship.org/. Donations in Linda’s name will be used to set up a LNA/Nursing scholarship.
