Obituary

Ronald (Ron) Dickinson, 73, of Whitman, died Monday, June 3, 2024 after a period of declining health.

Ron was born December 7, 1950 and son of the late Waldo and Louise Dickinson. He was a lifetime resident of Whitman. He was a graduate of Whitman Hanson High School and went on to receive his degree from Bentley College. He recently retired from Thompson Steel Company after 40+ years as their accountant.

His favorite hobbies included gardening, attending the Music Circus, having a delicious home cooked meal at either Good Days Restaurant in West Bridgewater or Marcelo’s in Whitman. Even though Christmas only comes once a year, Ron loved to celebrate every day by listening to Christmas music or admiring the Christmas tree in his home that stayed adoringly decorated year-round by him as well as past and present family members.

As a faithful servant of God, Ron found his spiritual home at First Congregational Church of Whitman where he was a life-long member and where he served as Treasurer for 47 years.

He is survived by his cousins, Donna (Mola) Carr of North Carolina and family, Edward Mola of Florida and family, and Philip Mola of Florida and family.

Family and friends are invited to Ron’s visiting hours Monday, June 10th from 10:00-11:00 AM with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 AM at the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will be held at Blue Hills Cemetery, Braintree immediately after all services.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to the American Heart Association.
