Obituary

Laconia-Charlotte Wilhelmina Paquette-Mulligan, 83, of Province Street died on Wednesday evening, July 19, 2006 at her home after a lengthy illness.

Charlotte was born on December 4, 1922 in Plymouth, New Hampshire, the daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy (Goodwin) Currier. She was raised and schooled in Plymouth, graduating from Plymouth High School. Charlotte also graduated from the Laconia Hospital School of Nursing in 1944. She had been a resident of Laconia for the past 61 years.

Prior to her retirement Charlotte was employed at Laconia Hospital know known as Lakes Region General Hospital for over 35 years as a Registered Nurse in the Obstetrical Department, especially in the Delivery Room. She also worked briefly at the former Laconia State School.

Charlotte was a communicant of St. Joseph Church in Laconia, and a member of its Ladies Guild. She also held membership within Nurse's Associations.

Charlotte was predeceased by her first husband, Omer H. “Pete” Paquette in 1970, and her second husband, John “Jack” Mulligan in 2003.

A member of a large extended family, Charlotte is survived by three sons, Richard Paquette of Laconia, Philip Paquette and his wife Michele of Loudon, and Joseph Paquette and his wife Melissa of Marietta, GA, several sisters and brothers, Annabelle Beryl Smith of Holderness, Barbara Currier of Meredith, Pat and Bertrum “Gump” Currier of Holderness, Joan and John MacDonald of Plymouth, Sandra Hawkensen of Hill, and Jack and Carol Currier of Ashland, seven grandchildren and step-grandchildren, Jennifer Sullivan of Laconia, Joel Paquette of W.VA, Derek Dickerson of Maine, Amanda Masse, Abigale Chelsey, Jenna Paquette, and Megan Paquette all of Loudon, two great grandchildren Amy Horne, and Andrew Sullivan, Jr. both of Laconia, two step-great grandchildren, Emily and Lauryn Masse of Loudon, and born a week and a half ago, a great-great-granddaughter, Arianna Charlotte Horne of Laconia. Charlotte is also survived by one aunt, Muriel Bilodeau of Andover, MA. From both sides of her family about 50 nieces and nephews also survive Charlotte.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday, July 24th, 2006 at St. Joseph Church, 30 Church Street, Laconia at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Gary J. Kosmowski pastor of the church celebrated the mass. Burial followed in the family lot at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours were Sunday evening, July 23rd, 2006 from 6-8 pm at the Simoneau-Paquette Memorial Home, 139 Church Street, Laconia. Family and friends were invited to attend.
