Joao Dejesus Barbosa (67) of Brockton died June 1st at home surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Rosa Helena (Fernandes) Barbosa of Brockton.
He was born in Sao Filipe, Fogo, Cabo Verde son of the late Antonio Barbosa and Silvina Barbosa. Joao was a communicant of St. Edith Stein and enjoyed watching soccer, Facebook and socializing with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife he is survived by 2 sons, Adilson Barbosa of Brockton and Jailson Barbosa of Cabo Verde, 2 daughters, Carla Barbosa of Cabo Verde and Djamila Cardoso of Taunton, a brother Joaquim Barbosa of Brockton, 2 sisters, Genoveva Barbosa Ferreira of Cabo Verde and Maria Antonia Barbosa of Brockton, a granddaughter Nidiany.
Visitation in the Home of Funerarias Multi Culturel, 238 Court Street Brockton Monday June 10th from 5-8 pm.
Services in the Funeral Home Tuesday June 11th at 9 am. Followed by a Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church, 71 E Main Street Brockton at 10 am. Burial to follow in Melrose Cemetery, 88 N Pearl Street Brockton.
